How we account for the trust placed in us

Registrations

• NGO Affairs Bureau, Prime Minister’s Office, Government of Bangladesh.
• Department of Social Welfare, Government of Bangladesh.

Registration certificates are available on request through the office.

Audit

Annual financial statements are audited by an independent chartered accountancy firm registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), and filed with the NGO Affairs Bureau. Audited accounts are made available to donors and partners on written request to the office.

How donations are handled

• All donations are received into institutional bank accounts on the institution’s books.
• Restricted donations (Qard al-Hasan, Qurbani, flood appeals) are held in separately tracked sub-funds and reported on individually.
• No commission is paid to any individual on any donation, ever.
• The office does not accept cash donations from the public; cheques and bank transfers only.

Photography and dignity

We do not photograph beneficiaries in distress for fundraising. Where photographs of people appear on this site or in our materials, they have been taken with the explicit consent of the individuals concerned (or of a parent or guardian for minors), and that consent is documented and retrievable.

Transparency is not a page on a website. It is the institution’s daily practice of being inspectable.
