Governance
How we are governed

DKWFB is a Bangladeshi non-governmental organisation registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau under the Prime Minister’s Office, and with the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Bangladesh. We are constituted under a written memorandum of association and operated by a Board of Trustees.
Board of Trustees
The Board includes the founder, senior members of Bangladesh’s civil and academic professions, and representatives from the communities we serve. Trustees serve without remuneration. The full register of trustees is available on request.
Audit
Our annual financial statements are audited by an independent chartered accountancy firm registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). Audited accounts are filed with the NGO Affairs Bureau as required by law and made available to donors and partners on request through the Transparency page.
Conflicts of interest
Trustees and senior staff are required to declare interests annually. Related-party transactions are disclosed in the audited accounts. No trustee, officer, or family member of either receives any commercial benefit from DKWFB’s programmes.
Governance is not paperwork. It is the visible record of how an institution protects the trust placed in it.
