Emergency response
Flood Donation
Bangladesh floods on a recurring schedule — in some years across vast areas, in others more locally. DKWFB responds in coordination with local mosques and partner organisations in the affected districts, with food packages, clean drinking water, oral rehydration salts, basic medicines, and tarpaulin sheeting where shelter has been lost.
We do not pretend to be a national-scale emergency operation. We respond where we can reach and where local partners have asked us to. Where we go, we stay long enough to see households into the recovery phase rather than withdrawing as soon as the water does.
Flood donations are accepted year-round; in years of major flooding, we open a dedicated appeal and account separately for the funds raised.
Emergency response is the part of welfare that arrives quickly and stays a little longer than expected.
