Introduction
Darul Khidmah Wal Falah, Bangladesh (DKWFB) is a Non-Governmental Organization with a difference. Not only is it concerned with education, health care, self-empowerment and the alleviation of poverty in Bangladesh, but it also strives for the moral and spiritual well-being of the poor and needy.
Bangladesh, a country with a population of 180 million, has made significant economic progress since its independence, yet the gap between rich and poor has grown substantially.
There is abject poverty in some areas of society, both rural and urban. Moreover, there is a glaring lack of proper educational facilities, health care, housing and infrastructure. DKWFB was set up in 1998 to address some of these issues and to embark on projects that will contribute to the overall well-being of society.
It is the work of a group of committed, like-minded people with modest resources, who have decided to take some positive action to alleviate poverty in Bangladesh through a variety of programmes, some of which are highlighted on this website.
Darul Khidmah Wal Falah Bangladesh is registered with the NGO Bureau (reg. no. 1522). It is also registered with the Social Welfare Department (reg. no. D-06349).
